According to an article in the NY Times today, Amazon is preparing to release a newer model of their popular Kindle as soon as this week. The newer model (as it appears in the article) seems to be at least as big as most magazines. The question begs to be asked – is this a wise move for Amazon?

While most electronics developers are focusing on slimming down laptops to be more portable, this device seems to come out of the blue. While I see only a small demographic that this model might appeal to, only time will tell if it will be a success. Of course, that is, if and when it is even released.
